Donor Privacy Policy

Our donations are hosted through Fractured Atlas. Making a donation or purchase through the Fractured Atlas site requires that you provide credit card information. Certain other services, such as applying for insurance, require that you provide social security or employer identification numbers. These are examples of "sensitive information" that must be treated with extra caution.

Fractured Atlas' policy is not to store sensitive information except when it is necessary to do so. For example, Fractured Atlas does not store full credit card numbers after transmitting them to our payment processing vendor.

When it is necessary to store sensitive information, such as the tax ID number associated with a fiscally sponsored project, Fractured Atlas generally stores it an encrypted format. This ensures that, in the highly unlikely event that our database were breached, the attacker would have a very hard time accessing the information in a useful format.

When sensitive information must be transmitted over the internet, such as when we send a credit card number to our payment processing vendor, it is transmitted over encrypted channels, making it much more difficult for an attacker to intercept and steal. The Mystic Prohect uses donors' information to understand their interests in its mission and to update them on the organization's plans and activities. It is shared with staff, members of its Board of Directors, volunteers, and consultants only on a "need to know" basis.

It is the policy of The Mystic Project not to sell, share or trade our donors' names and/or personal information with any other entity, nor send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations.

This plicy applies to all information received by The Mystic Project, both online and offline, on any platform, which includes The Mystic Project website and mobile applications, as well as any electronic, written or oral communcations.

To the extent any donations are processed through a third-party suervice provider, our donors' information will only be used for purposes necessary to process the donation.
